Bulbs Galore!
This fall, we made a plan to gather as many Green Thumbs members as we could and improve two spots with a bulb planting project. We picked these spots:
We planted 400 daffodil bulbs during this gathering in West Concord Center and we hope everyone enjoys them this spring. We're sure looking forward to some nice, fresh colors around town.

A Thank You from the Mandriolis:
Dear Ladies of the Green Thumbs,
Thank you very much for all your time and talents toward the renovation of the John Mandrioli Mini Park.
It looks beautiful and is a wonderful tribute to him, as well as a nice spot to relax and enjoy the village!
Your group does wonderful work. Thanks again!

Notes from Mandrioli Park
Mandrioli Park gets new signage! See Marilyn A, Bill Crosby (signmaker) and Pete Mandrioli on the installation day of the new sign.Mandrioli Park is a little pocket park in downtown West Concord tucked in front of the commuter rail tracks, next to an ATM, across from Concord Teacakes, and adjacent to the West Concord Supermarket. It was established for John Mandrioli Sr., owner of the West Concord Supermarket until his passing in 1961. See an incredible story about their 90th year in Concord here.
July, 2010 We've been getting a lot of questions on what plants were installed at Mandrioli Park so we have included the plants and their varieties that our group planted this past June below:
Tips or Tricks? Do you have any planting tips you'd like to share with others? What worked in your own garden this year? What was a dud? Let us know and we'll list them here!
Plant Swap
Last plant swap was at our meeting on June 21, 2010, at Binnie's house. Let's plan the next one!
