Letter to the Editor, Concord Journal – 3/11/12

The temperatures are warming and Spring is in the air.

For many in West Concord, Spring brings visions of flowers blooming.

The “flowering of West Concord” begins when daffodils, planted by members of the West Concord Green Thumbs, start to emerge.  In May, the flower baskets that line the streets in the business district will be hung, to be enjoyed all summer long.  As the summer continues, you might see Green Thumbs members weed, plant and maintain gardens that grace Mandrioli Park, the Fowler Library and the Crest St. triangle.  These combined efforts lend to a beautiful and vibrant look for West Concord.

Many residents and business owners have kindly contributed funds to the West Concord Green Thumbs in the past.  We hope you will consider making a donation, this spring, to allow us to continue our efforts towards the “flowering of West Concord”.

Please send checks – payable to: West Concord Green Thumbs and mail to
