April-May Events for Green Thumbs

  • THIS THURSDAY, April 17th, is our guest lecture, Kerry Ann Mendez, at 7 Harvey Wheeler, discussing low maintenance gardening.  She gets rave reviews as a speaker, so we hope to see as many there are we can.  Bring your friends!
  • We have scheduled two days for garden cleanup - Tuesday April 29 at 10 a.m., with Sat. May 3 at 10 as our rain date.  For those who can, bring gloves, rakes, trash bags, and other garden needs.  We'll meet at Fowler and divide up from there.
  • Garden walk-throughs will be held on Thursday May 22nd at 6:00 and Saturday May 24th at 10.  While these are especially important for newer members, all of us gain from walking through each garden space and remembering what needs to be tended to over the summer.  This year's walk through will include a tutorial on the famous hose at Junction Park.  Try to attend one of these.
  • Our next meeting had been scheduled for Tuesday May 20th.  However, the library is not open after 7 on that day.  Thanks to Kitty S, we have moved our May meeting to the 19th, at 7 p.m.  Kitty will graciously keep the library open for us and close it after our meeting.
  • Finally, but very importantly, our own Nancy Crowley is being honored with a reception at Concord Park this Friday, April 18th, from 2-5 p.m.  Nancy would love to see as many of us there as possible.  If you can make it,  please call 978-369-4728 to RSVP.
That's all for now.  I hope to see all of you Thursday at 7 p.m.
