  • Engraved Markers Very soon, before the end of fall, the Concord Public Works will install the gray granite engraved markers  at the edge of each of our five public space gardens.  The rectangular stones say: "Gardened by the West Concord Green Thumbs." We are grateful to the Town  for their special installation of these markers, and we hope they will remind us all of the fun we've had at that spot together, and of the beauty we all enjoy creating.

  • Fall Clean-Up and Planting Day Saturday, October 27th, from 10-12 Noon, is our Annual Fall Gardens' Clean-up and Planting of 200 new daffodil bulbs*.  All our members are urged to turn out.  Many hands always make this a quick job.  And this year, for the first time, we are inviting others of all ages from the Town to check in with Cosette and Caroline at Junction Park that morning to see how to help.  Of course, everyone brings equipment: a shovel, rake, trowel, and the essential garden gloves!  We hope to help others see that this group not only makes West Concord look lovely, but that the work - done in energetic groups - is fun.* Oh, and the rain date is Sunday, October 28th ...

The neglected little patch of weeds  bothered Andy Bonzagni, the owner of Concord Outfitters. “I don’t know the first thing about gardening, but I thought we needed one there.”  He spoke to Caroline McCloy, a member of the West Concord Green Thumbs one day last year and she agreed.  She brought it up to the membership and they were all for it. The spot belonged to the town so the Green Thumbs had to get permission from them.  Public Works Supervisor, Pete Flynn, spoke to Highway and Grounds Superintendent, Dan Rowley, who gave the project the green ...
